Newport News

$60 million, 83,000 square-foot project recently completed by The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company. The three-tiered glass dome definitely makes a statement on the Christopher Newport University campus.

Southeastern Mechanical provided the plumbing and HVAC for this highly complex project. More importantly, the project consists of two 370-ton centrifugal chillers, along with cooling towers, three 1,800 MBH boilers, condenser, chilled, and heating water pumps, three large central air-handling units, two high-pressure steam generated steam humidifiers, laboratory exhaust fans, and a strong emphasis on humidity and temperature control. Many lessons were learned by the SMI team on this project, but at the end of the day, we are very proud of this successful marquis project!

Virginia Beach

Harbor’s Edge is located in Norfolk, VA. It is a luxurious retirement high rise with 17 stories of independent living and 4 stories for assisted living and nursing care. Southeastern Mechanical, Inc. completed the plumbing and mechanical for the new building.

Hampton

The Chamberlin is a retirement community in Hampton, Virginia, overlooking Hampton Roads at Old Point Comfort. It was formerly known as the Chamberlin Hotel, named for the famed restaurateur and original owner John Chamberlin. The nine-story building sits on historic Fort Monroe and overlooks Fort Wool. Southeastern Mechanical, Inc. completed the plumbing and mechanical in the total renovation of the building.

Norfolk

Harbor Park is located on the Elizabeth River. It features almost 9,000 lower deck seats, 2,800 upper deck seats, and 400 seats in 24 luxury skyboxes leased to area corporations. The park also features a 225-seat restaurant known as “Hits at the Park” which offers a full view of the playing field. Overlooking left field is a 300-person tiered picnic area. The total capacity for Harbor Park is 11,856. The playing surface is Natural Grass, and the dimensions are 333 ft. in LF, 410 ft. in CF, and 318 ft in RF

Suffolk

Sentara BelleHarbour is a state-of-the-art outpatient medical center in North Suffolk that provides its patients with convenient access to quality medical care and services. Southeastern Mechanical, Inc. provided plumbing and mechanical work along with medical gas installation for the 20 month Design/Assist project.

Norfolk

Norfolk Academy is an independent co-educational day school serving Norfolk, Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, Portsmouth and Suffolk, Virginia. Founded in 1728, the school’s most important tradition is the student-led Honor System. Southeastern Mechanical, Inc. was part of the renovation of the refectory, aquatics center, library and upper and lower school providing plumbing and mechanical for the LEED project. Southeastern Mechanical, Inc. also completed the mechanical and plumbing in the new Leadership Center and Stadium.

Chesapeake

Southeastern Virginia Training Center is an Intermediate Care Facility which provides highly structured habilitation services including life in a residential neighborhood, care support/training, and learning opportunities in areas such as employment, communication, language, self-care, independent living, socialization, recreation, leisure, music, academic skills and motor development for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Chesapeake

Oceaneering was a design/build project. They develop products and services for use throughout the lifecycle of an offshore oilfield, from drilling to decommissioning. They operate the world’s premier fleet of work class ROVs.

Southeastern Mechanical, Inc. provided mechanical and plumbing to the new building in Chesapeake.

Norfolk

77,000 square foot medical facility consisting of surgical suites, MRI imaging, rehabilitation, and Sentara medical group offices. Southeastern Mechanical, Inc. completed the mechanical, plumbing, and electrical for the project.
