Nathan Rhoades

Vice President Electrical

Nathan Rhoades is the Vice President of the Electrical Division of Southeastern Mechanical Inc.

As Vice President, Nathan is responsible for all operations of the Electrical Division here at SMI. Nathan primarily handles all of the electrical estimating and project management for our electrical projects. He is also responsible for large material procurement such as lighting packages, gear packages, etc. He works with our field Superintendents for project scheduling, labor needs, and coordination with our subcontractors as well as the GC’s and their other subcontractors.

Nathan started his career in the electrical industry in 1993. He was enrolled in the Virginia Beach Vo-Tech Electrical program prior to that and was introduced to the owners of Arc Electric through this program. Upon graduation, he immediately started working full-time with Arc. Nathan entered their apprentice program and moved quickly into a Field manager position. He worked for Arc/IES for 24 years, becoming one of their Senior Field Managers. He made the move to SMI in January of 2017. Over his 27+ years in this trade, he’s learned that our employees are our biggest asset, if we take care of our employees, they will, in turn, take care of our customers!

In his free time, he spends many hours coaching his daughter’s softball team and stays very involved in the league itself. Nathan attempts to get out on the water as much as possible, as much as he loves his job and coaching, quiet time on the water is hard to beat!
